9) Can we Find Common Ground? How we Can Make Progress in a Hyper-Partisan World

Clark Anderson from Community Builders, a non profit organization based in Glenwood Springs, Colorado are working with communities through direct assistance, training, developing tools, research and information to help communities trying to improve by putting in place good policies, planning, and projects. Anderson brings attention to the growing political divide that the United States is currently undergoing––both at the local and national level, which he elaborates more on drawing from statistics. As a result, challenges arise that do not allow the advancement of solutions to be implemented, however, Anderson offers solutions to work around them. Further, Anderson also brings light to the current processes that are not effective in being inclusive of all voices, and suggests alternatives to ensure that there is diverse leadership, more inclusive processes, and an investment in better civic health.
